Using a sharp knife or scissors, trim 5" off each stem at a 45° angle. The slant gives the stem some space to drink more easily. Give them a quick trim every couple of days to ensure that they are able to continue drinking.

After their trim, offer your floral guests a cool drink of fresh water. Try to change the water at least every other day to keep the bacteria away. Clean water helps your blooms last longer!

Flowers bring their own kind of light to any space they're in. Keep them a few feet from a window sill for indirect light, and keep the temperature in the room mild.
